Summer residence in Denmark
In the enchanting coastal region of northern Denmark, a transformative renovation project unfolded along the water's edge. The property, graced with a stunning view of the sand banks and a panoramic 180-degree vista from the first level overlooking the sea and the nearby town, became the canvas for a Hamptons-inspired summerhouse. Preserving the historical significance of the locale, the property retained its identity as the America House.
Spread across 700 square meters and organized into three levels, the original building displayed a diverse architectural expression, characterized by varying window sizes, placements, and a plastered facade. The visionary approach to the renovation involved a meticulous metamorphosis, replacing the disparate elements with a cohesive wooden facade. The introduction of rectangular windows with arched tops added a touch of classic Hamptons elegance while maximizing the breathtaking views.
A distinctive exception was made for the sliding doors at the dining area on the first floor, seamlessly blending modernity with the timeless aesthetic. The primary focus of the project was to recenter the entrance, creating a balanced geometry that harmonized with the surroundings. Despite facing challenges posed by municipal restrictions, the built project remained true to its vision, with only slight deviations from the initial visualizations. As the renovation journey unfolds, the summerhouse is poised to stand as a testament to the fusion of history and contemporary design, with an anticipated completion in 2024.
